KOMEN FOR THE CURE AFFILIATES GAVE OVER $569,000 TO PLANNED PARENTHOOD. A study by the American Life League reveals that Komen for the Cure foundation, a breast cancer charity, has 18 affiliates that gave over $569,000 to Planned Parenthood in 2010. A 2008 Annual Report from Planned Parenthood shows its breast cancer services decreased by 4% and abortion procedures increased by 6%. Komen affiliates contributed about $3.3 million to Planned Parenthood from 2004-2009. Several Catholic Bishops have instructed churches and schools they oversee not to fundraise for Komen for the Cure because of its ties to Planned Parenthood; the latest includes Bishop Frederick F.
