Time for parents to write an OPT OUT letter to protect their child

As families start thinking about heading back to school, parents should TAKE ACTION NOW and submit a written "Opt Out" statement to your school district so your child is not subjected to the moral depravity that Planned Parenthood has foisted upon the school districts of our state.  Even though Planned Parenthood was capable of strong-arming their extreme Sex Ed bill (Assembly Bill 45) through our State Legislature earlier this year, school districts are NOT mandated to offer Sex Ed.

A simple written statement such as the following should be put on file now with your school district to protect your kids.  If there ends up being a library full of kids working on alternative projects, so be it.  It will send a message that the parents of your community are informed and will not allow Madison liberals with an agenda to tread on parental rights.

"Dear Superintendant,

Under Chapter 118.019(4), Wisconsin Statutes, I would like to opt my child, _______________________, out of sex ed instruction.  We are very offended by Planned Parenthood’s extreme agenda for Wisconsin’s minor children brought about by the passage of Assembly Bill 458.

AB458/SB324 passes Senate and Assembly in one fell swoop

With lightening speed, Planned Parenthood's alleged advocate, Sen. Lena Taylor, had her hopes and dreams fulfilled yesterday as the Senate passed the UN"Healthy Youth Act" with one amendment, then shot it to the Assembly for a rapid response and quick passage. The bill is now on its way to Governor Doyle's office. He is expected to place his rubber stamp of approval.

On a 4-3 vote the Senate Education Committee passed the “Unhealthy Youth Act” (AB-458/SB-324) which Planned Parenthood has been heavily lobbying for its passage. Voting for its passage were Senators Lehman, Jauch, Erpenbach & Hansen. Those opposed were Senators: Olsen, Grothman and Hopper.

AB458/SB324 UN"Healthy Youth Act" to be voted on in Senate this Wednesday

**ALERT!!

The Senate Education Committee in Madison is scheduled to vote on the Planned Parenthood’s Sex Education Bill – Senate Bill 324/Assembly Bill 458, this Wednesday, January 27^th at 9:30 AM. The driving force behind the bill is America’s largest abortion provider, Planned Parenthood, which operates 3 of the 4 largest abortion clinics in Wisconsin.

For an indication of how Planned Parenthood intends to discuss sex with our children and their expectations for young people, please see their website at http://www.plannedparenthood.org/teen-talk/. Currently, Planned Parenthood is paid by the state of Wisconsin taxpayers to give free contraceptives to all adolescents above the age of 14 (However, they do not turn away younger boys and girls). SB 324/AB 458 is the most significant change to Wisconsin sex education that we’ve had in a generation and the bills clearly promote that young people are expected to be sexually active. These bills do this in the following way:

1. Currently, school districts can teach abstinence-centered instruction. While SB 324/AB 458 discusses abstinence, it will bar abstinence-only instruction. This bill will not let school districts teach abstinence without teaching condom and contraceptive use. ( SB 324 page 3, lines 14-17) http://www.legis.state.wi.us/2009/data/SB324-SSA1.pdf

2. Current law dictates that local school districts have committees, which include members of clergy, to decide what is included in their school district’s sex ed curriculum. 3.SB 324/AB 458 requires sex ed instruction to not have a bias regarding sexual orientation/homosexuality or having sex before marriage. Therefore, any instruction that says homosexuality or sex before marriage is considered morally wrong would not be allowed under SB 324/AB 458. 4. Although parents are able to opt their children out, the instruction will influence the next generation of Wisconsin students' morality and lower the expectations for early sexual activity.

"Senator Grothman (R-West Bend) is circulating a letter for legislators to sign onto asking the Medical Society and the Medical Examining Board to investigate Abortionist Prohaska with regard to comments he made on a video circulating on the internet involving his activities at Planned Parenthood’s Appleton abortion facility. On the video http://www.liveaction.org/, the Planned Parenthood counselor is heard telling a woman that a child’s heartbeat does not begin until 17 or 18 weeks and something called “heart tones” begin at 7 weeks. Scientifically, a child’s heartbeat starts at three weeks and one day after conception. Dr. Prohaska, tells the woman, "you don't want to wait" to get an abortion, that an abortion is “very, very safe . . . much safer than having a baby” and warns her, "women die having babies." Prohaska is clearly choosing his words carefully to encourage a young woman to have an abortion.

“It seems to me that in order to keep the high reputation of Wisconsin’s medical profession, we cannot have doctors distorting medical truths in order to increase their incomes,” said Grothman. “It is important that both the State Medical Society and the Medical Examining Board investigate whether Dr. Prohaska should be allowed to continue to perform abortions in the state of Wisconsin.”

In the interest of public safety and women’s health, it is shocking that Planned Parenthood has not dismissed Dr. Prohaska on its own. The State of Wisconsin gives Planned Parenthood approximately $6 Million taxpayer dollars per year through the Family Planning Waiver program alone. This is in addition to approximately $12 Million in tax dollars through Title V, X and XIX funding that Planned Parenthood receives. The idea that an organization that receives Millions of tax dollars would mislead a young woman, in order to get another $300-$400 for an abortion is appalling.

I would hope to hear from both the State Medical Society and the Medical Examining Board as to whether or not they feel this behavior is appropriate and this level of misinformation is in the public’s best interest."

As you may be aware, there has been an outrage around the state due to a video released by Live Action which exposes information about how abortion clinics really treat women. They recently taped Dr. Prohaska in the Appleton Planned Parenthood clinic clearly encouraging the woman to have an abortion and his staff misleading a woman as to when the baby’s heart starts beating. It seems to me that the State Medical Society should not want the medical profession tarnished by such behavior and the Medical Examining Board should not want a doctor licensed who engaged in such behavior. I am, therefore, forwarding a letter to both groups to look into Dr. Prohaska’s behavior on the video and to report back to us as legislators. Action Needed to Stop Planned Parenthood’s Offensive Sex Ed Bill

Dear Friends,

People sometimes wonder how we arrived at the state of moral decay we are currently at in America and what we can do to fight it. One primary example exacerbating current problems in Wisconsin is Senate Bill 324/Assembly Bill 458 which dramatically changes the Sex Education curriculum in our state.

This bill, which is a top legislative priority for Planned Parenthood, will require districts to use curriculum approved by a traditionally liberal Department of Public Instruction relying on information determined to be accurate by liberal national groups. Bizarrely, public school teachers will not be able to say anything that will promote bias against sexually active children. Apparently, we don’t want to hurt their feelings.

Currently, curriculum is determined by a community advisory board made up of local parents and clergy who normally have a much more conservative and Christian-based view of sex among youngsters than Planned Parenthood. A coalition of almost two dozen liberal groups is pushing this bill that has already passed the State Assembly on a 48 to 43 vote.

It is vital for all sincere Christians to call their State Senators at this time and tell them to vote against Senate Bill 324/Assembly Bill 458. It would also be a good idea to call your State Representative and find out how they voted. If they voted for AB 458, ask them to publicly renounce their vote.

MPS considers condom giveaway program for kids

Milwaukee Public Schools' health officials want to make condoms freely available to students in many of the district's high schools, as part of an effort to combat the health risks that sexually transmitted infections and other communicable diseases pose to young people.

"Un"Healthy Youth Act, AB458, kills FREEDOM

Julaine Appling of Wisconsin Family Voice writes -

Fast-tracking legislation is starting early this session in our state legislature.

Take for instance, Assembly Bill 458 (AB 458) introduced this past Wednesday, 9/30, and scheduled for a public hearing in the Assembly’s Education committee this coming Tuesday, 10/6, at 9:00 a.m. Normally this type of “quick and dirty” bill handling doesn’t happen until February or so. Apparently, all bets are off in this Democratically-controlled legislature. Obviously, it’s “taxpayer/concerned citizen beware.”

AB 458, erroneously called the “Healthy Youth Act,” is a very thinly veiled attempt to do away with abstinence-centered Human Growth and Development programs in Wisconsin’s schools. Basically, even if the committee that proposes the curriculum wants to have an abstinence-centered program and recommends such to the school board, they can’t have it. AB 458 would make it illegal.

This “Un-Healthy Youth Act” requires that if a school district opts to have a Human Growth and Development program ( it’s still voluntary in WI), the program must include “medically accurate information” on such topics as “gender stereotypes,” “the health benefits, side effects, and proper use of contraceptives and barrier methods” approved by the FDA (which, of course, includes the euphemistically named “Plan B” emergency contraception). To be fair the law also requires that “the benefits of and reasons for abstaining from sexual activity” must be covered–along with all of the other “comprehensive sex ed” topics.

This proposal also requires that the program a school implements use “instructional methods and materials that do not promote bias against pupils of any race, gender, sexual orientation, or ethnic or cultural background or against sexually active pupils or children with disabilities.”

So, once again, by getting “sexual orientation” included in the above list, the homosexual advocates have prevailed. They have prevented schools from telling the truth about the dangers inherent in sexual activity with persons of the same sex. That right there makes this bill ”unhealthy” for youth.

I’m starting to feel a Rep. Joe Wilson moment coming on. I want to shout, “You lie!”

Cap all this off with a provision that will allow Planned Parenthood-WI or other so-called “family planning groups” to show up and, if a school district wants to, provide all the instruction in this program to all the students. Suppose they’ll refer the students to PPWI’s “Teen Wire” or “Go Ask Alice“? (Caution: if you click on any of the sites linked on the Planned Parenthood “teen page,” be prepared to be offended.)

Yep, “Healthy Youth Act.” You betcha. Wanna buy the “Bridge to Nowhere”?

AB458 passes tonight 48-43 - Get ready for ROUND TWO

Planned Parenthood has effectively trampled on Your values and Your rights tonight.

It should now be clear: Planned Parenthood has a solid grip on the Wisconsin State Legislature after targeting many pro-life legislators for elimination in the last two elections.

The final vote on Passage of Assembly Bill 458 was 48 to 43 - straight party-line vote with the Democrats voting in lock step with Planned Parenthood's extreme agenda and the Republicans plus Pro-Life Democrat Bob Ziegelbauer voting in support of Wisconsin's teens, parents, school districts, and taxpayers.
